Fully compliant with FDA 21 CFR §173.310, a blend of FFAs and alkalizing amines (ODYVAP VA 30) is ensuring safe steam treatment even in direct food contact applications. Dosing is controlled via a water meter downstream of the softener, with injection set at 750 ppm.
The FFA-based formula delivered a built-in cleaning effect, removing deposits without requiring any pre-cleaning or extra dispersants.
As an all-organic treatment, FFAs add zero dissolved solids to the feedwater. This leads to lower blowdown rates and optimized boiler efficiency through energy savings.
