Introduction

A manufacturer was looking for a treatment solution capable of protecting the entire steam system — including the tank, boiler, and steam lines — while operating with nearly 100% condensate return (direct reinjection into the boiler).

Additionally, the Quality Department required the product to be NSF-certified.

Fully compliant with FDA 21 CFR §173.310, a blend of FFAs and alkalizing amines (ODYVAP VA 30) is ensuring safe steam treatment even in direct food contact applications. Dosing is controlled via a water meter downstream of the softener, with injection set at 750 ppm.

The FFA-based formula delivered a built-in cleaning effect, removing deposits without requiring any pre-cleaning or extra dispersants.
